Growing Green

Although gardening is not usually a trigger for heated delandscaped gardenbate, this year’s Chelsea Flower Show has created somewhat of a divide among the horticultural community.

With some critics citing that more emphasis has been placed on buildings and quirky gimmicks than actual plants and flowers, there is clearly a huge passion among us Brits when it comes to this supposedly relaxing hobby.

Whether you have bijou back yard or a couple of acres in which to potter with your seeds, gardening is a bit like marmite –  you either love it or hate it, and if you are one of those who love it, you’re likely to have strong opinions on what your little patch of greenery should deliver.

Some of us think the garden should be reserved for hot tubs, kids slides or quirky features, others concentrate on pretty flowers, ponds and manicured lawns, whereas the self-sufficient wannabes among us prefer green houses and veggie patches.  When all’s said and done it comes down to personal preference and like the Chelsea Flower show the array of garden options on Propertywide has something for everyone.
