Valentine’s Day may have passed but according to recent research from US company, Harris Interactive, those still looking for love could do well if they own their own home.
The research revealed that over one third of the women surveyed would rather date someone who owned their own home than someone who rented. Conversely, only 2% said they would prefer a man who rents. Men are less prescriptive in their aspirations for a partner, with just 18% of men expressing the same preference for home owning ladies.
There was more unison among the sexes when the respondents were asked about a potential suitor’s living arrangements. 62% of all survey respondents said they preferred to date singles who lived alone to those who had room mates, and a massive 95% of all the singles surveyed said they would not date someone living at home with mum!
If all this has left you feeling like you need to get your foot on the property (and dating) ladder, our properties below boast some of the features considered most important by the singletons surveyed.
The top property feature considered the biggest turn on for singletons was a grand master bathroom. This was followed by walk-in closet, gourmet kitchens and hardwood floors.
