Although the UK property market is not yet in official recovery, the start of 2012 has definitely seen some improvements. ‘Complete negativity’ has been replaced by ‘cautious optimism’, and some of the more robust property companies are now actively looking to recruit.
With the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors reporting that property transactions are at their highest level for 18months, the Nationwide building society reporting an increase in house prices for February, and the Bank of England citing a 30% year on year increase in the number of mortgages approved in January, good news is beginning to surface.
This increased activity in the property market has had a knock on effect on the companies that operate within it and those with robust business models now seem ready to begin building up their workforce in preparation for the recovery.
For example, Countrywide Conveyancing Services, the largest residential conveyancing practice in the UK, is actively looking for experienced individuals to join its legal team. With vacancies located in central Manchester and central Cardiff, vacancies include property lawyers, account managers, customer advisers, case progressors and settlement advisors and consultants to work with its panel firms.
Similarly, Countrywide Mortgage Services are focused on expanding their team of mortgage brokers in key locations across the UK. They are currently looking to recruit experienced or trainee Consultants, full training is provided and a hunger for sales and an aptitude for finance is a must.
