If you could live in the property of your dreams, what would it look like? Would you spend your days lounging at the side of your very own heated swimming pool? Would you choose to sip on a glass of vino sitting on a balcony facing the sea? Or would you invite your nearest and dearest to a private screening of the latest block-buster in the privacy of your home cinema? Actually the answer is likely to be ‘none of the above’.
According to Leeds Building society, us Brits are rather more reserved in our property ambitions. The research revealed that the majority of homeowners would like to live in a detached house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The research which involved a poll of 1,000 homeowners revealed that almost half were looking for a detached property, 52% wanted 3 bedrooms and around 76% would like at least 2 bathrooms.
Findings from the research also uncovered the top 5 dream features which included location as number 1, property size as number 2, garden and outside space third, property layout in forth place and off-street parking as number 5. Conversely, the biggest turn offs included no garden, no driveway, and old heating system, old fashioned décor and stairs in the living room.
With location taking the hot spot in the premier league of property requirements it’s no wonder that estate agents are doing all they can to make it as easy as possible to pin point homes within a desired area. Propertywide’s ‘travel-time’ feature goes one step further by asking home seekers to specify a key attraction (perhaps a place of work, a desired school, or a particular high street or hotspot) and a maximum commute time to that place. It then displays available properties that fall within that radius. The search can be narrowed further by regular criteria including number of bedrooms, bathrooms, property type etc.
So, if you are one of the many people seeking your 3 bed, 2 bathroom detached dream home visit propertywide and turn your dream into reality.
