Grant Mitchell, Head of Motor Insurance at The Co-operative Insurance, said; “Whilst we all enjoy a good sing-along, it is important for drivers to ensure that when they are driving that the road is the focus of their attention.

“With wintry weather setting in across the country and more people using the roads, especially in the evenings, to complete all important Christmas shopping, the roads can be treacherous. Concentration is a must when driving in order to avoid road traffic accidents which are devastating, at any time of year.”

Icy conditions and the harsh winter weather could spell disaster for motorists who are not prepared for winter. Loud music could be a distraction, encouraging faster driving which may result in an accident.
