William Webb Ellis – the Rugby World Cup

After four years of waiting it is finally here; the Rugby World Cup. The question is, will there be singing in the Valleys, celebrations in the Glens or euphoria in the Shires? This week we try to find you the perfect base to watch the ruggers from.

The beautiful English Countryside. Rugby, Warwickshire and William Webb Ellis.  The story of how he founded the game may be regarded as false, but nevertheless cries of “swing low sweet chariot” will resound throughout the market town over the next few weeks as England attempt to bring the cup home. Considering moving to Rugby? Why not look at this three/four bedroom period cottage in Walcote, Lutterworth. Otherwise, if you are a fan of Martin Johnson, the ex Tigers player and current England coach, you might be interested in a stylish five bedroom detached family residence near the ground in Bushby, Leicester.

The passion that is Welsh rugby. Will Wales be singing from the valleys on Sunday the 23rd of October? This unique four bedroom property in Merthyr Tydfil has a loft room that has the potential to be used as a cinema room too  (as you belt out “Cwm Rhondda”). Gilwern also offers some gorgeous Welsh properties, like this four bedroom house with spectacular views over the Usk Valley towards the Sugarloaf, Table Mountain and the Black Mountain range beyond.

No one can write off the Scots. Andy Robinson has high hopes for a side that can play with passion and flair. The Scottish Rugby Union is the second oldest Rugby Union, having been founded in 1873. Can they draw on experience and overcome England on October the 2nd?  This beautifully presented and well proportioned modern detached villa in Glasgow is a perfect home to watch the rugby from. If you are looking for something with a wee more space why not try this luxurious six bedroom executive detached villa in Markinch, Glenrothes.

Come what may, let’s hope that one of our teams take on and beat the rest. Come on the Rugby World Cup!
